ECG Planned Maintenance Today: Full List of Areas to Experience Power Outages on May 27

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced planned maintenance works across parts of the Accra East, Ashanti and Tema regions on Wednesday, May 27, with several communities expected to experience temporary power outages lasting between four and eight hours.

In the Accra East Region, power supply will be interrupted from 9:00am to 5:00pm in North Dzorwulu, parts of GIMPA, New England, Obediben, Dzorwulu and nearby areas. ECG said the exercise, first announced on Friday, May 22, forms part of efforts to improve service delivery.

The Ashanti Region will experience two separate maintenance outages. The first, scheduled from 9:00am to 1:00pm, will affect Asewase Town, Aboabo Number One and Two, Golden Temple, Asewase Renault and surrounding communities.

A second outage in the region will run from 9:00am to 5:00pm and impact the Tech Commercial area, IDL, Tech Hospital area, the KNUST Senior High School enclave and adjoining communities. ECG said both maintenance notices were issued over the weekend of May 23 and 24.

In the Tema Region, electricity supply will be disrupted from 10:00am to 4:00pm in several communities, including the Seawater Desalination Plant, Maranatha, Buade, Glow Lamp, Frimpongmaa Estates, Abrantie, Dan Adams, Coastal Estates, Basket, GCB Training School, Ataa Adama, Royal Ravico, Junction Mall, Regimanuel Estates, Parakuo Estates and Queensland International School.

Other affected areas include Kpoo Keke, Best Western Premier Hotel, Leisure Hours Hotel and parts of Nungua, including Zongo, Township, the Traditional Council area, the Polyclinic and the Secondary School enclave. The outage will also affect the Kpeshie Divisional Police Headquarters, Coco Beach, Main 1, Father’s Hotel, C5 and nearby communities.

ECG apologised for the inconvenience and advised customers in the affected areas to make the necessary arrangements during the maintenance period.

The company said power supply would be restored immediately after work is completed and encouraged customers to follow its official communication channels for updates.
