Millennium Excellence Foundation, IC Publications Partner for Major Africa Investment Summit in US

The Millennium Excellence Foundation has entered into a strategic partnership with IC Publications to organise the Africa Business Investment Summit 2026 (ABIS 2026), the flagship investment event of Millennium Excellence Week America 2026.

The summit will be held under the royal patronage of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who is expected to deliver the Royal Keynote Address on August 27. Organisers say his involvement underscores the summit’s significance and reflects its strong foundations in Ghanaian and Pan-African leadership.

Scheduled to take place at the iconic MGM National Harbor on the banks of the Potomac River, the event will be held under the theme “Unlocking Capital · Steering Investment · Shaping Africa’s Future.”

ABIS 2026 will serve as the economic highlight of Millennium Excellence Week America 2026, a major programme that will culminate in the Akwasidae Kesie Grand Durbar, bringing together traditional leadership, policymakers, investors and business executives from across the world.

The invitation-only summit aims to facilitate at least US$500 million in structured investment commitments between African project developers and investors from the United States. Discussions and deal-making activities will focus on seven priority sectors: energy and power, technology and innovation, agriculture and food systems, tourism and the creative economy, infrastructure and real estate, mining and natural resources, and the maritime sector.

Speaking on the significance of the summit, Ashim Morton, also known as Nana Agyeman Prempeh, said the event is designed to move beyond discussions and drive tangible investment outcomes.

“ABIS 2026 is not about talking potential; it is about delivering action. We are bringing together some of the world’s most influential investors and Africa’s most promising opportunities under the patronage of one of the continent’s most respected leaders,” he said.

The summit is expected to attract heads of state, global chief executives, development finance institutions, institutional investors and government ministers, with more than 40 percent of participants holding ministerial or C-suite positions.

Managing Director of IC Publications, Omar Ben Yedder, described the summit as timely, noting that Africa is increasingly positioned to play a central role in addressing global challenges amid shifting geopolitical and economic dynamics.

“For more than 50 years, our publications have helped tell Africa’s story. Today, the continent is uniquely placed to offer solutions to the world. ABIS 2026 aligns perfectly with our mission and will bring together the partnerships, platforms and ambition needed to drive Africa’s economic future,” he said.

Over the course of the two-day event, participants will take part in ministerial roundtables, innovation showcases, private deal rooms, memorandum of understanding (MoU) signing sessions, the launch of a diaspora investment programme and a gala dinner.

As part of the partnership, IC Publications will provide editorial coverage, event support and investor mobilisation to help maximise the summit’s reach and impact.
