Toronto Event to Showcase Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy and Export Development Drive

Ghana and Canada are preparing to strengthen economic relations as investors, business leaders, policymakers and development partners converge in Toronto for the 2026 Ghana–Canada Investment Forum, scheduled for June 15.

The event will take place at the Westin Harbour Castle Conference Centre in Ontario and is expected to highlight investment opportunities in Ghana while promoting partnerships aligned with the country’s broader economic transformation agenda.

The forum is being organised by Stratcomm Africa in collaboration with Toronto-based events company Kwakaf International.

A key focus will be Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme (24H+), which aims to drive industrial growth, expand exports, boost trade competitiveness, create jobs and improve productivity.

Participants will be briefed on policy frameworks and investment opportunities available to Canadian businesses seeking partnerships with Ghanaian companies and institutions.

The event is also being supported by the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat and the Ghana Tourism Authority, as part of wider efforts to advance government’s Reset Agenda and strengthen bilateral economic cooperation.

Chief of Staff Julius Debrah is expected to attend as Special Guest of Honour, with the Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, chairing the forum. Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Gyakye Quayson will deliver the keynote address.

One of the major highlights will be a Deal Room session facilitated by ThirdWay Capital, a Canada-based impact investment firm that supports growth-oriented SMEs across Sub-Saharan Africa.

The session will bring together investors, business leaders and government representatives from both countries to explore partnerships and showcase Ghana’s investment potential, with a focus on sustainable economic growth and stronger business linkages.

Universal Merchant Bank (UMB), the lead sponsor of the forum, says its involvement reflects its commitment to supporting entrepreneurship, investment and long-term economic development in Ghana.

Organisers note that the timing of the event is significant, coinciding with the FIFA World Cup period, which they believe will help attract a wider international audience and further position Ghana as a competitive destination for investment and business collaboration.

Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Stratcomm Africa, Esther A. N. Cobbah, said the forum builds on longstanding relations between Ghana and Canada and presents fresh opportunities for economic cooperation.

She added that the timing of the event alongside the World Cup offers added visibility for Ghana’s economic agenda and international partnerships.

The forum is expected to bring together stakeholders from both countries to explore new investment opportunities and strengthen cooperation in trade, innovation and sustainable development.
