Lola Hair and Beauty College has graduated 34 young trainees after a four-week intensive Summer Skills Training Programme designed to nurture creativity and equip participants with practical skills for personal and professional growth.
The programme, which catered to children between the ages of 8 and 18, concluded with a graceful graduation ceremony held over the weekend. The event brought together parents, friends, facilitators, and families to celebrate the accomplishments of the young participants, all of whom were presented with certificates.
Delivering the keynote address, Reverend Latifa Adekanla, CEO of Lola Hair and Beauty College, expressed her joy at the success of the initiative.
“It is with great joy that I welcome you to the graduation ceremony of our Summer Skills Training Programme here at Lola Hair and Beauty College. Today, we celebrate achievement, hard work, and the promise of new beginnings,” she said.
She explained that the programme was carefully designed to help young people discover their gifts and build the confidence to use them.
“This programme was designed to equip our children with practical skills, ignite their creativity, and build the confidence to use their gifts for personal and professional growth. As Scripture reminds us, ‘Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.’ By God’s grace, we can boldly say this goal has been achieved,” Reverend Adekanla added.
The CEO applauded the commitment of the trainees and the support of parents throughout the journey, acknowledging their role in the program’s success.
“Graduates, you have worked diligently, shown discipline, and today you stand ready to take what you have learned to bless your families, communities, and beyond. To our facilitators and staff, I extend heartfelt gratitude for your dedication and excellence in guiding these trainees. And to our parents, families, and friends — thank you for your unwavering support throughout this journey,” she said.
The Summer Skills Training Programme, which ran from early August to late August, introduced participants to a range of hands-on skills within the beauty and haircare industry while instilling values of discipline and creativity.
The college, through a Facebook post on August 29, also thanked parents for their trust and praised facilitators for their patience and dedication, expressing excitement about future vacation programmes.
Reverend Adekanla concluded by encouraging the graduates to see themselves as part of a bright future for the beauty industry, and encouraged to take advantage of the next session of the training.
“Congratulations to our graduates — the future of the beauty industry shines brighter because of you,” she said.
