Tieme Music Artists Secure Multiple Nominations at 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards

Tieme Music artists have secured multiple nominations at the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards, as the industry enters its official voting season to celebrate standout acts and songs from the past year.

In a statement, the label expressed pride in the recognition of its roster, highlighting the achievements of Beeztrap KOTM, Kwesi Amewuga, and Gonaboy across key categories.

Beeztrap KOTM, who won Best New Artiste at the 2025 awards, has earned two nominations this year following his feature on Medikal’s hit single ‘Shoulder’, which also features Shatta Wale.

The song has been nominated for both “Best Hiplife Song” and “Most Popular Song of the Year,” underlining its widespread impact.

Kwesi Amewuga also received a nomination for “Best Hiplife Song” with his track ‘Badness’, a record that blends nostalgic elements of early 2000s Hiplife with contemporary sounds. The nomination reflects growing appreciation for artists drawing on Ghana’s musical heritage.

Meanwhile, Gonaboy has secured two major nominations following what industry watchers describe as a breakthrough year. His song ‘Same Timbs’ is in contention for “Best Hip-Hop Song,” while he has also been shortlisted for “Best New Artiste.”

His rise has been further boosted by his inclusion in Apple Music’s “Africa Rising: Class of 2026.”

Tieme Music said the nominations reflect its commitment to nurturing talent and supporting artists to reach wider audiences.

“These milestones aren’t just industry accolades; they are the moments that fuel our passion to keep championing West African excellence on the global stage,” the label noted.

With voting now open, attention shifts to fans and industry stakeholders, whose support will determine the eventual winners at what is widely regarded as Ghana’s biggest night in music.

France Forward Hugo Ekitike Set to Miss World Cup Following Serious Injury Blow

Hugo Ekitike is expected to miss the World Cup after suffering a suspected Achilles injury during Liverpool’s Champions League defeat by Paris St-Germain on Tuesday.

The France forward left the pitch at Anfield on a stretcher, and Liverpool fear he faces a long absence, and that he may miss the start of next season.

On Wednesday, the 23-year-old went for scans, which are expected to confirm the extent of the damage.

Ekitike joined Liverpool from Eintracht Frankfurt last July and has been one of their standout performers this season, with 17 goals and six assists in all competitions.

Speaking post-match about Ekitike, head coach Arne Slot said: “I think we could all see that it didn’t look well and didn’t look good. Let’s wait and see what it will be. But we could all see it didn’t look good.

“In the second half, he went home so I haven’t seen him yet. Losing a game is already very hard, especially in the way we lost it, but again – as it seems to be – losing a player is something we’ve had so many times this season.

“It’s especially very hard for him because you never want to be injured, especially not at this moment of time in the season.”

In January, Ekitike became just the second player after Kenny Dalglish to score in five different competitions during their debut campaign with Liverpool.

He made his France debut in September and was set to be part of Didier Deschamps’ squad for this summer’s World Cup.

Liverpool have suffered a number of setbacks this season, with both Giovanni Leoni and Conor Bradley out for the rest of the season with injuries.

Alisson Becker and Wataru Endo also remain sidelined, while Alexander Isak returned earlier this month from an ankle injury that he sustained in December.

Queiroz to Restore Discipline in Black Stars, Says FIFA Specialist Chibsah

FIFA High-Performance Specialist Faisal Chibsah has expressed confidence in the ability of newly appointed Black Stars coach Carlos Queiroz to bring “discipline” that he believes was lacking under the previous coach.

Otto Addo was dismissed after a run of four defeats in international friendlies, with three months to go before the World Cup.

Portuguese tactician Queiroz has been hired on a four-month deal as a replacement until the end of the 48-team expanded tournament.

Speaking to JoyNews, Chibsah said he is confident about the competence of the 73-year-old, who has had notable stints including as assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United and as a coach at Real Madrid.

“He will bring a bit of discipline to the team, which for me was lacking a lot. We would see [discipline] and also [Ghana would] definitely get an identity.”

“The challenge for Carlos now would be how adaptable he can be taking on Ghana.”

“Iran, Oman, Qatar [recent jobs of Queiroz] are not Ghana. Ghana, we expect more.”

Queiroz described the role as “not just another job [but] a mission” ahead of the global tournament.

The Black Stars are targeting a place in the knockout stage for the first time since 2010.

Ghana face England, Croatia, and Panama in Group L.

Deloitte Ghana Expert Highlights Prompt Engineering as Key AI Skill at AI Skills Fest

A Data Analytics Consultant at Deloitte Ghana, Richard Quainoo, has delivered a compelling presentation on prompt engineering at the recent AI Skills Fest, emphasizing the growing importance of effectively communicating with artificial intelligence systems in today’s digital economy.

In his session titled “Prompt Like a Pro,” Mr. Quainoo broke down the concept of prompt engineering into simple, practical steps, demonstrating how individuals can significantly improve the quality of AI generated outputs.

He introduced the Task, Context, Reference, Evaluate, and Iterate (T.C.R.E.I) framework as a structured approach to crafting effective prompts.

According to him, the difference between poor and exceptional AI outputs often lies not in the tool itself, but in how instructions are given.

He explained that vague prompts, lack of context, and unstructured requests frequently lead to inaccurate or unusable results, while clear and detailed prompts unlock the full potential of AI systems.

He also highlighted a key message that resonated strongly with participants: what once required complex coding can now be achieved through well-crafted prompts. Referencing a statement by the Chief Executive Officer of NVIDIA, Jensen Huang that English would become the programming language of the future, Mr. Quainoo noted that this future is no longer distant but already unfolding in the present.

Mr. Quainoo further outlined the practical benefits of mastering prompt engineering, including improved efficiency, higher quality outputs, better return on AI investments, and increased competitiveness in the job market.

Beyond the technical aspects, he also addressed the risks associated with generative AI, such as hallucinations, bias, and data privacy concerns. He urged participants to adopt responsible AI practices by verifying outputs, protecting sensitive information, and maintaining human oversight in all AI assisted processes.

AI Skills Fest: 'Prompt engineering' is key in communicating effectively with AI systems – Deloitte Data Analytics professional

“AI is a powerful tool, but it is not infallible. The responsibility still lies with the user to ensure accuracy and ethical use,” he stated.

The event also featured other notable speakers, including sessions on AI for data analysis, vibe coding, and building applications using modern AI platforms, providing attendees with a well-rounded view of current trends and opportunities in the AI space.

Mr. Quainoo concluded his presentation by encouraging participants to move beyond casual use of AI tools and adopt a more structured, iterative approach to prompting. He stressed that those who develop strong prompting skills will not only use AI more effectively but will also position themselves as leaders in an increasingly AI driven world.

The AI Skills Fest brought together professionals, students, and technology enthusiasts, all eager to explore the evolving landscape of artificial intelligence. The event featured a lineup of speakers who shared practical insights into various AI applications, including data analysis, software development, and application building.
