Ruben Amorim Commits to Manchester United for the Long Haul

In a recent interview with BBC, Manchester United’s new head coach, Ruben Amorim, expressed his unwavering commitment to the club, stating

“I want to stay at Manchester United for 20 years. I truly believe in that, it’s my goal.” Amorim’s determination is evident in his words, “I know that last season I used all the credit, now we move forward”.

The Portuguese coach drew parallels between his experience at Sporting CP, where he faced skepticism and pressure, and his current role at Manchester United. “If you look closely, it was the same thing at Sporting. They said I’d be sacked in three months. They said I had a 3% chance of winning a title with Sporting.” Amorim emphasized that while the pressure is different at United, he thrives on building connections with people and prefers not to change clubs frequently.

Amorim revealed that he chose Manchester United deliberately, saying, “I was waiting for the right club. It might seem crazy, but I chose this club. I had a feeling it was the right one.” With his sights set on a long-term tenure, Amorim concluded, “As long as I can, I’ll stay here.”
