Chelsea join race to sign Semenyo

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo, intensifying a fierce battle among some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs ahead of the January transfer window.

According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the Blues made contact on Tuesday to enquire about the conditions of a potential deal, joining Manchester United, Manchester City and Liverpool in the pursuit of the Ghana international.

Romano revealed that both Manchester United and Manchester City have been in talks with Semenyo’s representatives for several days, with discussions still ongoing as clubs assess the possibility of triggering his release clause. Liverpool, meanwhile, have maintained a long-standing interest in the 24-year-old, having first tracked him back in November.

Semenyo, who has been one of Bournemouth’s standout performers this season, has attracted widespread attention with his pace, power and versatility across the forward line. His consistent displays have made him a key figure for the Cherries and a prime target for elite clubs seeking attacking reinforcements.

The forward reportedly has a £65 million release clause in his contract, which is set to expire on January 10, adding urgency to negotiations as interested clubs weigh up their next move.
