Legendary South African singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka has expressed excitement ahead of her performance at the African Festival in Accra on December 28, 2025.

The celebrated musician, widely regarded as one of Africa’s finest voices, will headline the festival, an event celebrating the continent’s culture, music and shared heritage.

In a video message ahead of the festival, Yvonne Chaka Chaka said, “Ghana is hosting the African Festival. From South Africa, I am coming to sing. Unite and celebrate our shared heritage.”

Her appearance adds star power to an event that has been attracting attention across the continent. This will not be her first time performing in Ghana, a country she has often praised for its rich culture and the warm reception of African artistes.

The African Festival is expected to bring together musicians, dancers, fashion designers and food vendors from across Africa. Activities lined up include live music performances, cultural exhibitions, fashion showcases and traditional food fairs, all aimed at promoting African unity and creativity.

The organisers, Globe Productions, say the festival is designed to provide a platform for cultural exchange while offering audiences a blend of entertainment and education. With Yvonne Chaka Chaka on the bill, the festival is expected to attract music lovers from Ghana and beyond.

Yvonne Chaka Chaka, known for timeless hits and decades of influence across Africa, continues to inspire generations with her music and humanitarian work.
