Volta Regional Minister assures residents of crime-free yuletide

The Volta Regional Minister, James Gunu, has assured residents of a peaceful and crime-free Yuletide, urging the public to celebrate Christmas and the New Year in moderation.

He said enhanced security measures would not end with the festive season but would be sustained into the coming year to boost investor confidence in the region, which holds strong potential in agribusiness, tourism, and industry.

Mr Gunu gave the assurance after a Joint Security Services Route March through the principal streets of Ho.

The annual exercise brought together personnel from the Ghana Armed Forces, Ghana Police Service, Customs, Immigration, Prisons Service, and the Ghana National Fire Service.

Led by Mr Gunu, the officers marched for about six kilometres through the streets of Ho, chanting patriotic and motivational songs.

The route march was aimed at demonstrating the readiness of the security services to combat crime, ensure public safety, and strengthen civilian-military relations.
