The CEO and Managing Director of Sanlam Allianz Life Insurance Ghana, Tawiah Ben-Ahmed has called for new measures to improve financial confidence and secure prosperity.
He explained that such initiatives will enable dependents of policy holders to benefit from salaries in the case of death or accidents.
Speaking to Joy Business after a partnership deal with the Multimedia Group Ltd (MGL), Mr. Ben-Ahmed said this could serve as an important cushioning for most Ghanaian households.

“Is there an alternative way of creating sustainable confidence to create prosperity and secure life by making sure that our salaries don’t die with us?”, he quizzed.
He stated that a new system can be created where monthly salaries are insured for a minimum of 60 months to cater for immediate family members after a policy holder dies or is incapacitated through an accident.
“For a minimum of five years, we need to protect the income of workers. So that whether you work at Multimedia, we know that the salaries will flow and every year it increases as if you are not working”, he stressed.

Mr. Ben-Ahmed said insurance on salaries will also guarantee regular flow of income, reducing the dependency on the State or family members during death or national disasters that affect breadwinners.
The Sanlam Allianz MGL partnership
The partnership between Sanlam Allianz and the Multimedia Group Limited is expected to help educate more people on financial confidence and financial literacy.
The partnership will help spread the benefits of insurance to individuals and businesses, as well as help address challenges facing the sector.

“We believe that the insurance market and its rather low penetration can only grow if the Ghana market have a better understanding of finance and insurance. And thankfully, we are collaborating with Multimedia Group to enable this financial education”, Ben-Ahmed said.
Launch of Financial Literacy Campaign
He announced that Sanlam Allianz will on Thursday, August 28, 2025 launch the Financial Literacy Campaign as part of the company’s efforts to bridge the insurance gap.
“We are launching an initiative called Financial Education. And this is sponsored by Sanlam Allianz Group. And this is not a financial education for customers of Sanlam Allianz. No, this is a financial education for the entire Ghana market”, he assured.

The Multimedia team was made up of the Head of Sales and Marketing, David Max-Fugah, Producer of the Super Morning Show on Joy FM, Samuel Odame, Head of Joy Business, Winston Amoah and host of the Super Morning Show, Kojo Yankson.
Speaking on behalf of the team, Mr. Amoah said the Multimedia Media Group seeks to deepen its relationship with its partners to bring value to its audiences.

“It’s very important for people to be financially confident. Once they are financially secured, they’ll be prosperous. As a media organization, our focus is mainly, first of all, to our people and our partners. Now, we believe that we cannot do this all alone. It’s important we always form partnerships, partnerships that would inure to the benefit not just of ourselves or the partner, but to the general population”, he said.
He stated that the decision to visit the premises of Sanlam Allianz is aimed at familiarizing with the operations of the company to design mutually beneficial plans for both parties.

“Some of the times, you know, we engage in these partnerships and you don’t even know the people who are behind it, the people who are going to be delivering it. We believe it would be important beyond the talks, the sponsorship or the thought leadership, you know the people who are going to be driving it, so that the partnership would move beyond just, hello, hi”, he said.
