New Juaben North Municipal Football Association Holds Maiden Stakeholders Meeting to Kickstart Football Development

The New Juaben North Municipal Football Association (NJNMFA) has taken an important step toward strengthening grassroots football with the successful organization of its first stakeholders meeting.

The historic gathering, held at the Municipal Assembly Hall in Koforidua, brought together football administrators, traditional authorities, political leaders, and other key community figures who share a common vision — building a stronger football structure within the municipality.

At the heart of the meeting was the appointment and endorsement of an Interim Executive Management Committee that will steer the affairs of the Association until substantive elections are conducted.

Prominent Figures Show Strong Support

The event drew the presence of several distinguished personalities, including:

  • Samuel Adongo, Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for New Juaben North Municipal Assembly
  • Nana Ampem Frempomaa Manso I, Nkosuohene of the Effiduase Traditional Area, Patroness and member of the Advisory Council of NJNMFA
  • Eric Donkor, Chief Executive Officer of Koforidua Suhyen Sporting Club (KSSC)
  • Samuel Osei Sarkodie (SOS), Youth Organizer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the municipality

Their participation reflected the seriousness of the initiative and highlighted the broad support behind efforts to promote football in New Juaben North.

Building a Strong Foundation

The newly endorsed Interim Executive Committee has been tasked with laying a solid foundation for the Association. Among its key responsibilities are setting up effective administrative structures, organizing local competitions, engaging clubs and colts teams across the municipality, and promoting discipline and professionalism within the game.

The committee is also expected to work closely with the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to ensure that activities align with national football regulations and standards.

A Fresh Start for Local Football

Stakeholders at the meeting expressed optimism that the formation of the NJNMFA marks the beginning of a new chapter for football in the municipality. Many believe the Association will not only create opportunities for young talents but also strengthen community involvement in sports.
