Obuoba J.A. Adofo and actress Vivian Jill Lawrence showers praises on Shatta Wale

Two prominent figures in Ghana’s entertainment industry have openly expressed admiration for dancehall star Charles Nii Armah Mensah, popularly known by his stage name Shatta Wale, praising both his talent and his influence on the music scene.

Legendary highlife musician Obuoba J.A. Adofo did not hold back when speaking about the award-winning artiste. According to him, Shatta Wale’s boldness and willingness to challenge the status quo are qualities he deeply respects.

“I wish we had someone like Shatta Wale in our era,” Obuoba said. “He is very brave. He has fought for the betterment of the industry. Back in our time, we needed someone like that to stand up for us.”

Beyond his activism, the veteran musician also praised Shatta Wale’s artistry, revealing that he regularly listens to his songs and considers him a strong performer. He even hinted at a possible collaboration — though he admits he has been hesitant to make the first move.

“I would love to collaborate with him,” he confessed. “But I’m a bit shy when it comes to approaching him. Still, I genuinely want to meet Shatta.”

Meanwhile, actress Vivian Jill Lawrence also declared her unwavering support for the dancehall star. She described him as the “King” and said her admiration remains firm regardless of public opinion.

“I love Shatta Wale. Whether people like it or not, he is the King,” she said. “I will always love him and support him.”

The public endorsements from the respected highlife icon and the popular actress add to the growing list of industry figures who continue to celebrate Shatta Wale’s impact on Ghana’s music landscape.
