GFA budgeted $3.3m for five 2026 WC Qualifiers - Kofi Adams

The Ghana Football Association submitted budgets totaling $4,386,010 for the Black Stars first five matches in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.

Sports and Recreation Minister Kofi Adams made the details of the budget public at a press conference on Tuesday, to brief the public on the approved budget for Ghana’s World Cup Qualifiers against Chad and Mali.

Of the five budgets submitted, the one for Ghana’s match day four qualifier against Mali in Bamako, had the biggest value; $1, 161,310 , while the home match against Chad saw the least amount budgeted – $617,660.

Below are the details of the budgets submitted and the respective games.

Match day 1 – Ghana v Madagascar $963,060

Match day 2 – Comoros v Ghana $908,580

Match day 3 – Mali v Ghana – $1, 161,310

Match day 4 – Ghana v CAR $735, 400

Match day 5 – Ghana v Chad – $617,660

At the same presser, the Minister announced significant adjustments to the budget for the Black Stars’ 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali, resulting in savings of over $732,000.

In all, government has approved a budget of $1.3 million for the two matches.
