Central Region Chief Raises Alarm Over Poor School Infrastructure, Urges Urgent Government Action

The Chief of Denkyira Nkotimso in the Upper Denkyira West District of the Central Region, Nana Oketekyire Joe Amanfo II, has appealed to government and the District Chief Executive (DCE) to urgently support efforts to improve educational infrastructure in the area.

While he acknowledged what he described as positive signs following the return of former President John Mahama, the chief expressed concern over the slow pace of development in the district, particularly in the education sector.

Adding his voice to the concerns, the Assembly Member for the Nkotimso Electoral Area, Hon. John Mensah, said repeated appeals to address the situation have yielded little results.

He revealed that the community currently relies on just one public school to serve a growing population, leading to overcrowded classrooms with as many as 90 pupils.

He described the situation as deeply worrying and called on non-governmental organisations and other stakeholders to step in and help address the infrastructure deficit.

According to him, improving access to quality education remains critical to the future of the community.

Responding to the concerns, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Isaac Nsiah, urged residents to remain hopeful, assuring them that the NDC government is committed to providing the needed support in due course.
