24-Hour Economy Will Thrive Through Industrialisation – Dormaa Central MCE

The Municipal Chief Executive for Dormaa Central, Hon. Dominic Adoma Ameyaw, has said Ghana’s proposed 24-hour economy can be effectively achieved through sustained industrialisation.

According to him, elements of a round-the-clock economy are already in place, with sectors such as security services, hospitals, some fuel stations, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), as well as ports and airports operating continuously.

He noted that these existing systems show Ghana is gradually moving toward fully embracing a 24-hour economic model.

Hon. Ameyaw stressed, however, that the policy will only become meaningful with the expansion of factories and industries to support agriculture and other key sectors.

He underscored the importance of developing markets that can operate day and night to drive the policy’s success.

He also disclosed that the Assembly has begun registering traders who have been asked to relocate behind the NAB1 Park, following ongoing construction of a model 24-hour market at the Dormaa Ahenkro Tuesday Market.

The exercise, he explained, is to ensure that affected traders are given priority when allocating spaces in the new market once it is completed, before opening it up to others.
