The Deputy Director of the National Ambulance Service, Mr. Patrick Inkoom Gabbinson, has urged Ghanaians to stop misusing emergency lines, especially those meant for ambulance services.

He warned that prank and unnecessary calls place a heavy burden on the system and can delay response times for people in critical need of medical attention.

Mr. Gabbinson made the call during a ceremony where the Municipal Chief Executive for Wassa Amenfi East, Hon. Raymond Nana Ebbah, officially handed over a new ambulance to support emergency services in the area.

He stressed that responsible use of emergency lines is essential to ensure that resources are directed to genuine, life-threatening cases.
Hon. Ebbah, on his part, revealed that the district’s ambulance had been out of service for the past four months, creating serious challenges for emergency referrals and putting additional pressure on the healthcare system.

With the arrival of the new ambulance, he expressed optimism that emergency response in the district will significantly improve and help save more lives.
He added that he chose to inscribe his name on the ambulance as a way of leaving a lasting mark on the development of the municipality.
