The Okotwasuo Kantamanto Oworae Agyekum III, Akyem Bosome Manhene and elders, together with the Asakyiri Abusuapani, Nana Yaw Frimpong, the Asakyiri clan of Akyem Swedru, and the family of Abrewa Yaa Akoto of Akyem Swedru, have announced the passing of their beloved matriarch,
ABEREWA MRS. ELIZABETH WIREDUAA ASIEDU, aged 103.
She is also mourned by Nana Gyamera Akoto, Gyaasehemaa of the Goaso Traditional Area, Mr Owusu Takyi of Akyem Swedru, and all allied families.
Burial and funeral arrangements

The body will be laid in state, followed by a wake-keeping at the deceased’s residence from 8:00 pm.
Saturday, April 18, 2026
A burial and funeral service, including a file past, will be held at the Peniel Presbyterian Church in Akyem Swedru at 8:00 am. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Later in the day, the final funeral rites will continue at the Akyem Swedru Oman Durbur Grounds from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm.

A memorial and thanksgiving service will take place at the Peniel Presbyterian Church, Akyem Swedru, at 8:30 am. After the service, final funeral activities will continue at the Oman Durbur Grounds.
She is survived by her children: Mrs Christiana Osei (UK), Mr John Darko Asiedu, Mrs Elizabeth Appiah, Nana Kwabena Asiedu-Akoto, Ms Mary Asiedu, Mr Augustine Asiedu, Ms Nana Abena Apea, and Mr Alex Puni Asiedu. Her late son, Mr George Asiedu, is also remembered.
