The Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Elikplim Akurugu, has distributed mathematical sets to all Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the constituency as part of efforts to support education and improve academic performance.
The exercise covered several junior high schools across the constituency and is intended to provide candidates with essential tools for their examinations, while also easing the financial burden on parents.
Speaking during the distribution, Akurugu encouraged the students to stay focused and approach their exams with confidence as they prepare for this important academic milestone.

She said the support was meant to ensure that no student is left out of examinations due to a lack of basic materials. She encouraged the students to study hard, believe in themselves, and strive to make the constituency proud.
She also reaffirmed that education remains a central focus of her development agenda, adding that she is committed to expanding opportunities for young people in Dome-Kwabenya.
Some beneficiaries welcomed the gesture, describing it as timely and helpful as they prepare for their examinations.
A teacher at one of the beneficiary schools also praised the initiative, noting its positive impact on students who might otherwise have struggled to afford the materials.
“This intervention has come at the right time. It will go a long way to support the students, especially those who could not afford these materials,” the teacher said.
Parents and community members also commended the MP for her continued investment in education, saying such interventions are helping to improve learning outcomes across the constituency.
The distribution of mathematical sets forms part of a broader education support programme aimed at enhancing academic performance and promoting equal access to learning materials for students in Dome-Kwabenya.
