Portuguese newspaper Público has reported that Alamara Djabi, a midfielder with Danish side Midtjylland, may have falsified both his age and identity.
Djabi, who is officially listed as being born in 2006 and set to celebrate his 19th birthday on September 28, is alleged to be six years older than his documents suggest.
According to the report, his real name is Alamara Viriato, and he was born in 2000.

If the claims are accurate, this would mean Viriato competed in youth teams well into adulthood, including appearances for Midtjylland’s U19 side at the age of 25.
Neither FIFA nor UEFA has commented on the matter. However, if the allegations are confirmed and brought before football’s governing bodies, the player could face serious sanctions.
