spokesperson for Nana Kwame Bediako’s New Force, Shalimar Abbiusi, has come out to publicly distance herself from the group, accusing them of using her image, likeness, and voice without permission in an upcoming video campaign.
In a statement released on April 28, 2026, Abbiusi made it clear that she no longer has any affiliation with Bediako’s political movement or its related organisations — The New Force, the New Africa Foundation, and the New Africa Congress.
The Belgian national, who was deported from Ghana in 2023 over immigration issues that were later ruled unlawful by the ECOWAS Court, said her lawyers had sent a cease-and-desist letter to the group on April 13, 2026. According to her, they have received no response so far.
Abbiusi has now warned media outlets, bloggers, and online platforms against linking her name or image to Bediako or any of his entities, stressing that doing so could create a false impression of endorsement. She indicated that she is prepared to take further legal steps to protect her identity and rights.
