Ghana Sports Fund boss urges unity and support for Black Stars before Panama World Cup game

The Administrator of the Ghana Sports Fund, Dr David Kofi Mawuvi Wuaku, has expressed strong confidence in the Black Stars ahead of their crucial clash against Panama, calling on Ghanaians both at home and abroad to rally behind the team.

Speaking ahead of the match, Dr Wuaku urged the public to support the national team through prayers and encouragement, describing the fixture as another key opportunity for Ghana to demonstrate its football strength on the global stage.

He said the squad has the talent, experience and determination needed to rise to the occasion and secure a positive result.

“I have absolute confidence in the Black Stars. They have what it takes to overcome every challenge before them and make Ghana proud. This is a team blessed with talent, experience and the fighting spirit that has always defined Ghanaian football,” he said. “I believe victory is within reach, not only for Ghana but for Africa as a whole.”

Dr Wuaku noted that the Black Stars carry the hopes of millions of Ghanaians and football fans across the continent, especially as Africa looks to make its mark on the world stage.

He also highlighted football’s unique ability to unite the nation, regardless of political, social or regional differences.

“At moments like this, we must put aside our differences and stand firmly behind the national team. The Black Stars represent all of us, and they need our full support,” he stated.

He further appealed for prayers for the players, coaching staff and technical team, stressing that success in football goes beyond preparation and skill.

“The players need our encouragement, our faith and our prayers. Let us pray for strength, protection from injury, wisdom for the technical team and the determination needed to achieve success,” he said.

Dr Wuaku acknowledged the sacrifices made by the players in representing the country and urged Ghanaians to show them consistent support, even in difficult moments during the tournament.

He expressed optimism that Ghana would compete strongly and advance far in the competition.

“We pray that Ghana stays in the competition until the very end. We pray for consistency, focus and victory in every match. Most importantly, we pray that the Black Stars bring the trophy home and give Ghanaians another memorable moment in our football history,” he added.

As anticipation builds for the Panama encounter, Dr Wuaku’s message has added to growing calls for unity and confidence in the national team.

With fans across Ghana and the diaspora expected to follow the match closely, hopes remain high that the Black Stars will deliver a strong performance and continue their pursuit of international success.
