Accra Floods: Unidentified Body Retrieved from Alogboshie Community

An unidentified body has been recovered in the Alogboshie area of Accra following the heavy rains and flooding that swept through parts of the capital earlier this week.

The body was discovered on Wednesday, July 1, after floodwaters began to recede in sections of the community.

Although the circumstances surrounding the death remain unclear, the discovery comes in the aftermath of Monday’s torrential downpour, which triggered severe flooding across several parts of Accra. The floods submerged major roads, inundated homes and left many commuters stranded for hours.

The body remained at the scene awaiting the arrival of police officers for removal to the mortuary and further investigations.

The latest discovery adds to the 12 flood-related deaths already confirmed by the Ghana National Fire Service following the devastating floods that hit the capital.
