The Chief Executive of Ghana EXIM Bank, Sylvester Adinam Mensah, has urged stakeholders across the agricultural value chain and the general public to actively engage in the Agrotech Fair, which opened on Tuesday, 17th March, and will run until 19th March.
The three-day event serves as a strategic platform to drive innovation and investment in Ghana’s agricultural sector, supporting national efforts to modernise agribusiness and boost productivity.
This year’s fair is themed “Transforming Agribusiness through Local Innovation and Technology.”

Speaking at the launch, Mr. Mensah highlighted the importance of the Fair in promoting collaboration across the agricultural value chain.
He explained that the initiative brings together local manufacturers, technology developers, farmers, fishers, processors, exporters, investors, research institutions, and policymakers under a shared vision of driving transformation in the sector.

He explained that the fair will act as a high-impact marketplace for ideas and opportunities, allowing stakeholders to engage in meaningful dialogue, explore emerging technologies, and build partnerships that can drive growth in the agrotech and agro-industrial sectors.
“It is designed to be a recurring platform to showcase AgroTech, foster innovation, strengthen agribusinesses, and advance Ghana’s economic transformation through agro-processing, value addition, and expanded exports,” he said during his speech at the opening ceremony.

“Primarily, the fair serves as a platform to showcase practical domestic agricultural technologies and solutions that can boost productivity across the entire value chain,” he said.
He further highlighted that building stronger connections between innovation and production is key to unlocking the full potential of Ghana’s agricultural economy, especially in an era where technology-driven solutions are transforming global food systems.
“Moreover, it provides a valuable space for farmers, agribusinesses, innovators, investors, and policymakers to come together, turning ideas into profitable business partnerships,” he added.

The Agrotech Fair will showcase exhibitions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and networking opportunities, all aimed at promoting sustainable agricultural practices and enhancing value addition across the sector.
The event is part of broader efforts to position Ghana as a competitive hub for agro-industrial development, while opening pathways for inclusive participation and long-term investment in agriculture.
President John Dramani Mahama attended the opening as the special guest of honour.
