The Deputy Director of Elections and Information Technology for the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Rashid Tanko-Computer, has asserted that Ghanaians are already reaping the benefits of the government’s Reset Agenda, just eight months into the party’s return to power.

Speaking on JoyNews’ The Pulse Show ahead of the upcoming by-election in Akwatia, Mr Tanko-Computer said the NDC government, led by President John Mahama, has hit the ground running with tangible improvements in communities across the country.

According to him, the pace and scope of ongoing development initiatives are proof that the administration is committed to real, measurable progress.

“We are barely eight months in office, and people are already enjoying a better Ghana under the Reset Agenda. This is not just a campaign promise it’s a deliverable objective,” he said.

He further revealed that the Chief of Staff has extended invitations to various communities and stakeholders to engage the presidency on their development priorities.

“The Chief of Staff has extended similar invitations to them, and that’s good for them. They should come, they should bring their development paradigm what they want. Government will assess it and determine the areas that need urgent attention,” he said.

Mr Tanko-Computer dismissed claims that the government’s promises were mere political rhetoric, stating that the NDC has a proven track record of delivering on its commitments.

“Go and see other constituencies. Within eight months, you will see the evidence for yourself. The people know we are going to deliver, because we have a history of doing so,” he added.

The by-election is scheduled for September 2, 2025, in the Akwatia Constituency of the Eastern Region, following the death of Member of Parliament Ernest Kumi on July 7 after a short illness.
