The Bono Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO), Fati Kine-Lam, has advised the youth to prepare themselves and leverage government socio-economic interventions to acquire jobs.
She said the government remained committed to creating job opportunities, saying that until the employed youth positioned themselves well, they could not identify those opportunities.
Mrs. Kine-Lam gave the advice when executives of ‘Street Connect’, a youth wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), paid a courtesy call on her in Sunyani, assuring her that President John Dramani Mahama would not fail the nation.
She said, “President Mahama is doing everything possible to create job opportunities and empower the youth to contribute meaningfully to economic development.”
Mrs. Kine-Lam also urged graduates not to over-rely on formal employment but rather to channel their skills into entrepreneurship and assured them that the government was ready to support them to build their own businesses.
Leader of ‘Street Connect,’ Abdul Razak, said the group remained committed to marketing the socio-economic interventions and policies of the government to the masses.
