The Methodist Church Ghana, Dansoman South Circuit, through its Bread of Life Society, marked Palm Sunday with its annual Festival of 10 Lessons and Songs on March 29, 2026, at the Bread of Life Chapel near the Dansoman Exhibition Roundabout.

The event, which began at 8:00 a.m., centred on the triumphant entry, passion, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It featured powerful musical ministrations from the Singing Band, the Church Choir, and Vessels of Praise, creating a reflective atmosphere ahead of Easter.
Speaking to Daakyehemaa Maame Yaaba on the sidelines of the programme, the Bishop of the Accra Diocese, Rt. Rev. Dr. Samuel Nii Nmai Ollennu, described the festival as timely and deeply meaningful for the Christian calendar.
According to him, the blend of scripture readings and hymns helps tell the story of Christ’s journey to the cross, setting the tone for Passion Week and the celebration of Easter.
“It comes at a special time for Christians and uses music to communicate the message of Christ’s death and resurrection in a powerful way,” he noted.
The Bishop also used the occasion to advise young people to stay focused and build a solid future by living according to God’s will.
He cautioned against being distracted by worldly desires, encouraging discipline, consistency, and a willingness to start small.
“Youth is a time to work, not to waste,” he stressed, urging them to make the most of their potential.

Chairman of the Bread of Life Society Singing Band and current Circuit Chairman for the Dansoman South Circuit Singing Band, Brother Isaac Ewusi Egyir, explained that the festival was introduced in 2019 to deepen spiritual reflection through music.
He said the selected songs often highlight Christ’s suffering while encouraging personal reflection and unity within the Christian community.
This year’s celebration, he added, also incorporated elements of Ghanaian cultural heritage, with a focus on promoting faith-based growth and strengthening the impact of the ministry.
