Centre of the World Golf Club to Host PGA Heritage Cup 2026 with GH¢100,000 Prize

The Centre of the World Golf Club in Tema is set to be the spotlight of professional golf as it hosts the PGA Heritage Cup 2026, featuring a total prize purse of GH¢100,000.

Professional golfers from across Ghana are expected to gather for the first major tournament of the year under the Ghana PGA governing body. Scheduled to coincide with National Heritage Month, the competition will run from March 18 to March 21, 2026, with two categories: Regular Professionals and Senior Professionals.

The regular professionals will compete over four days, while the senior professionals will play over three days—all at the same prestigious venue. Golfers will contend not only for the prize money but also for the honor and prestige of lifting the PGA Heritage Cup trophy.

Following impressive performances across the country last year, many golfers are expected to give their all at the tournament, aiming to make an impact and earn valuable ranking points.

According to the PGA’s Tournament Director, Eric Henaku, intensive preparations are underway at the Tema course ahead of the championship. He noted that the upcoming tournament has prompted many golfers to engage in focused individual training in anticipation of the event.

Reports from golf clubs nationwide indicate that the majority of competitors, particularly in Accra, have stepped up their preparations, eager to showcase their skills as the stakes remain high.

In addition to the professional categories, over 40 amateur golfers will compete on the final day of the PGA Heritage Championship, adding to the excitement and spectacle of the event.
