Child Online Africa has donated 30 copies of the motivational book The Silent Mountaineer to Mawuko Girls Senior High School, offering students a powerful tool of inspiration and guidance for both academic and personal growth.
The gesture, which blends philanthropy, education, and empowerment, was made possible through the initiative of Mrs Xornam Carl, who purchased 10 copies of the book, and the author—an alumna of Mawuko Girls—who matched her generosity with an additional 20 copies.
At a brief but symbolic ceremony, the Advisory Board Chair of Child Online Africa officially handed over the books to the Headmistress of Mawuko Girls SHS, since neither MMrsCarl nor the author could be present.
“The Silent Mountaineer is more than a story,” the Advisory Board Chair Rev. Emmanuel K. Bredzei said during the presentation. “It reflects resilience, determination, and the courage to rise above life’s obstacles. By placing these books in the hands of Mawuko students, we hope to not only inspire their ambitions but also remind them of the importance of navigating both life’s challenges and the digital world with confidence and safety.”
The book’s donation resonates strongly with the mission of Child Online Africa, an organisation dedicated to promoting online safety for young people across the continent. Receiving the books, the Headmistress of Mawuko Girls SHS expressed gratitude, noting that the gift adds significant value to the school’s library and to the holistic education of its students. “Our girls will see themselves in these pages.
