The 2025 JoySports Invitational Tournament was not only a showcase of athletic talent but also a platform for corporate networking and economic reflection. Companies from the manufacturing, services, and agricultural sectors converged at Ghana’s largest corporate sporting festival, competing in football, table tennis, athletics, and the crowd-favorite tug of peace. Beyond the sporting contests, the atmosphere sparked conversations about the economy, with several business leaders commending the relative stability of the cedi and its impact on growth and planning.
General Manager of YAK Decor Limited, Rebecca Kyei Antwi, expressed optimism about sales performance, crediting the stable exchange rate for boosting consumer demand.
“Currently, the dollar is stable. Economically, it’s good. So, sales are coming up compared to the previous years. It’s better.”

For Nana Yiadom Boakye Kanto, Managing Director of Alsale Services Limited, the current stability has offered businesses more room to strategize.
“Comparatively, I think there’s some form of stability because the space in which we are in, some of the things we use to deliver the service to our customers are imported. The exchange rate has been stable and there are some gains in that area… Whatever they are doing, if they continue, it’s better for the cedi to be strong, for us to be able to plan.”
Echoing similar sentiments, Aaron Odum, CEO of Aldrich Care Solutions, highlighted how currency strength is helping firms to scale operations.
“Gradually, we can see some improvement. The cedi gaining strength… is giving corporate organizations the ability to scale up and strengthen their ties in Ghana.”

Meanwhile, Courage Kodo, Brands Manager of Fenaam Industries Limited, emphasized the role of government in sustaining growth.
“What we pray for is that the economy will pick up. That would be solely dependent on what the government brings… As far as we are part of the industry, we will keep producing and serving the people, but we know government also has a major role to play.”
On the sporting front, Piwak Natural Health emerged as the overall champions, clinching four gold medals to dominate the tournament.

The JoySports Invitational continues to stand out as more than a day of games, it is an arena where business, networking, and national economic discourse intersect.
