The Convention People’s Party (CPP) has issued a statement denying any involvement in a petition to remove President John Dramani Mahama from office.
According to the party’s Central Committee, it has not sanctioned such a move, stating that any attempts to associate the party with the petition are unfounded.
In a statement signed by the Chairperson and Leader of the CPP, Patrick Nelson Sogbodjor, the party said that its former flagbearer’s running mate in the 2024 Presidential Elections, Wayoe Gjanamanti, had made the claim about petitioning Parliament without the party’s knowledge or approval.
The CPP has urged the public to disregard any attempts to link the party to the petition, reaffirming its commitment to its principles and values.
