NPP presidential aspirant, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, has underscored the need for education to be treated as the driving force behind Ghana’s economic transformation.
Speaking on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, the former Education Minister warned that the economy risks stagnation if investments in education are not guided by a transformative vision.
“Education should be seen as the engine for transformation of our economy. Without it, our economy will remain stagnant. We need a growth mindset, beginning with our children. It must be built into the curriculum,” he stressed.
Dr Adutwum pointed to China’s development model as proof of how cultivating a growth mindset in young people can spur national progress.
He also highlighted the importance of teaching Ghana’s history to inspire future generations, citing global icons such as Kofi Annan as examples.
Pledging deliberate action if selected as NPP’s flagbearer for election 2028 and subsequently elected president, Dr Adutwum said his administration would consciously harness education as a tool for transformation.
