A fire broke out behind the VVIP Station at Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, sparking concern among residents and the many commuters who pass through the busy transport hub each day.

For now, the cause of the fire, the scale of the damage, and whether anyone has been injured are still unknown.

Emergency responders, including officers from the Ghana National Fire Service, have been dispatched to the scene and are working to bring the situation under control and stop the flames from spreading to nearby buildings.

Motorists and pedestrians are being urged to stay clear of the area to give emergency teams the space they need to carry out their work safely.
