First Atlantic Bank donates to Ghana Medical Trust Fund

The Ghana Medical Trust Fund has received a significant boost following a donation from First Atlantic Bank to enhance healthcare delivery across the country.

On September 16, 2025, a high-level delegation from the Bank, led by Daniel Marfo, Executive Director of Business, visited the Fund’s offices to present the support package. Other members of the delegation included James Abonney, Regional Head for Accra East; Chris Kan-Dapaah, Group Head for Energy Banking & Financial Institutions; and Ebenezer Akyeampong, Head of Corporate Communications.

The donation forms part of First Atlantic Bank’s corporate social responsibility agenda, aimed at expanding access to quality healthcare and strengthening the fight against chronic non-communicable diseases.

In his remarks, Mr Marfo reaffirmed First Atlantic Bank’s unwavering commitment to initiatives that expand access to quality healthcare for Ghanaians.

He underscored that this donation is not only a demonstration of the Bank’s strong corporate social responsibility agenda but also a reflection of its belief that good health is a foundation for national development.

He further assured the Fund of the Bank’s readiness to continue supporting future interventions in the health sector.

Receiving the delegation, the Administrator of the Fund, Mrs Obuobia Darko-Opoku, expressed profound gratitude to First Atlantic Bank for its timely and impactful support.

She noted that the Bank’s contribution comes at a crucial time in the fight against chronic non-communicable diseases and would directly strengthen efforts to provide specialised medical care for vulnerable patients across the country.

Mrs Darko-Opoku also emphasised the vital role of corporate institutions in complementing the government’s vision of building a resilient healthcare system.

She lauded First Atlantic Bank for setting an example of purposeful corporate citizenship and reaffirmed the Fund’s commitment to ensuring that every contribution goes toward saving lives and creating lasting impact.

The contribution is expected to directly support specialised medical care for vulnerable patients while complementing the government’s efforts to build a resilient healthcare system.
