The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has completed the selection process for the first batch of recruits, with 2,000 individuals set to begin training as part of a nationwide enlistment exercise.
In a statement, Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin confirmed that the selected recruits are expected to report to their regional selection centres across all 16 regions on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. to collect their appointment letters and training prospectus.
The Armed Forces noted that this group represents the first of four batches scheduled for training under the ongoing recruitment drive.

The Military has assured applicants who were deferred during the screening process due to treatable medical conditions that they can seek appropriate care and will be reconsidered at a later stage at no additional cost.
The statement also highlighted that the first batch of recruits includes 18 individuals injured in last year’s El-Wak Stadium stampede, alongside five others sponsored by families of victims, recognising their connection to the tragedy.
The Military expressed gratitude to all 16 Regional Administrations for supporting the decentralisation of the recruitment process, in line with government policy.
Applicants who are yet to be selected were encouraged to remain patient, with assurance that further selections will be made from a pool of high-performing candidates. Additional consideration will be given to residents of Sikaman in the Ashanti Region, who assisted in last year’s helicopter crash rescue efforts.
