Vibes The Movie has earned an Outstanding Achievement Award at the American Motion Pictures Festival, marking a major milestone for Ghanaian cinema.
In an official statement, festival organisers said the film stood out among a competitive pool of international entries, praising its originality, craftsmanship, and storytelling impact.
“We are delighted to inform you that Vibes The Movie has received an Outstanding Achievement Award in the February 2026 session of the American Motion Pictures Festival,” the statement said.
Released in 2025, the film stars Big Ghun and Jeffrey Nortey and follows the journey of two friends determined to break free from low-paying jobs to build a successful business. The story explores themes of youth ambition and the economic realities of life in Accra.

The series, which features the popular characters Lil Pui and Obolo Tui, garnered over 10 million views within a year and drew collaborations with several public figures.
Directed by Big Ghun, Vibes The Movie was marketed as a street-to-big-screen project, marking its evolution from digital content into a full-length film.
Industry observers say the recognition reflects growing global interest in locally produced Ghanaian content.
The American Motion Pictures Festival, a U.S.-based non-profit platform, showcases independent films from around the world and honours outstanding productions across multiple categories.
The film’s latest award adds to a growing list of international recognition for Ghanaian filmmakers, as the industry continues to expand its presence on the global stage.
