Professor Michael Kpessah-Whyte shared fond memories of his colleague, the late Dr Edward Omane Boamah, highlighting his unique qualities as a strategist and a compassionate leader.
Kpessah-Whyte described Dr Omane Boamah as a go-to person whenever anyone encountered a problem while sharing his thoughts in an interview on Channel One TV on August 11, 2025.
“Dr Omane Boamah was a strategist. When you hit a snag, he presents an idea and points out to us that if we maneuver this way, it would possibly end in that way. That was one unique thing about him,” he said.
Kpessah-Whyte recalled his final meeting with Dr Omane Boamah, which took place on July 30, 2025.
The meeting was attended by President John Mahama and other appointees.
Dr Omane Boamah served as a key resource person, focusing on communication strategies for government officials.
According to Kpessah-Whyte, one particular piece of advice from Dr Omane Boamah has stayed with him.
It concerned the management of party foot soldiers.
“He said, they can barge into your office for favours, but if you can’t help… don’t harm them.”
This statement, Kpessah-Whyte noted, reflects Dr Omane Boamah’s empathetic and thoughtful approach to leadership.
