IHRC Urges Peace in Middle East as Muslims Celebrate Eid al-Fitr

The International Human Rights Commission has extended Eid al-Fitr greetings to Muslims around the world, while calling for renewed international efforts to promote peace and stability in the Middle East.

The message, delivered by the Commission’s Deputy Chairman, Abu Zein, comes as millions mark the end of Ramadan against the backdrop of rising tensions in the region.

Eid al-Fitr, a time traditionally associated with reflection, sacrifice and compassion, is being observed amid ongoing conflict, particularly in areas such as Palestine and Lebanon. The situation has involved multiple actors, including Israel, Iran and Hezbollah, and has resulted in civilian casualties and widespread displacement.

Ambassador Abu Zein expressed concern about the worsening humanitarian conditions, urging restraint and calling for urgent steps toward a peaceful resolution.

“The International Human Rights Commission stands in solidarity with Muslims globally as they celebrate Eid al-Fitr,” he said. “We also urge the international community to work towards lasting peace in the region, while protecting human rights and human dignity.”

The IHRC reaffirmed its commitment to advancing human rights and fostering global harmony, encouraging individuals and communities to embrace the values of compassion, generosity and unity—especially during periods of conflict.
