Jonina Ladies forward Agnes Yeboah brought spark to the Black Princesses team over the weekend in their win over Tunisia at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Yeboah was on the scoresheet for Charles Sampson’s side in the 2-0 second leg win over the North Africans to claim a spot in the next round of qualifiers for the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup.

The winger, who had no minutes in the first leg, also started the second leg from the bench as she awaited her debut for the Ghana U-20 team, having played for the U-17 team in the past.

Yeboah was brought on at the start of the second half, taking the place of Theresa Darko, who was handed a starting berth in the absence of Sarah Nyarko.

It didn’t take long for the Jonina Ladies forward to leave a mark on the game.

She finished off a brilliant move from the Black Princesses to double their lead with her first touch of the ball in the encounter.

Yeboah met Ivy Osei Owusu’s low cross drive from the right-hand side, beating the Tunisian goalkeeper to make it 2-0 in the game, sealing a 4-0 aggregate win for Ghana.

It was a day to remember for the youngster who was only getting her first minutes after being called up to the U-20 team.

Yeboah has been an instrumental figure at Jonina Ladies and will be looking to take inspiration from her goal-scoring form at the national team when the new Ghana Women’s Premier League season resumes later in October.
