Host of Joy FM’s Drive Time, Kwame Sakyiamah – popularly known across Ghana as Lexis Bill – brought the Aburi Mountain to life on Saturday morning as he led dozens of fans, celebrities and fitness enthusiasts on the latest edition of his monthly wellness event, Walk With Lexis.
The walk, which has grown into a vibrant community activity, saw participants gather at the foothills of Aburi at dawn, all clad in the signature white T-shirts boldly inscribed “Walk With Lexis.” The group set off with cheers, music and warm-up drills, creating a festive atmosphere along the popular hiking stretch.

The crowd, made up of government officials, CEOs, business leaders, public figures and celebrities wrapped up the hike with an exciting aerobics session at the summit. The atmosphere was lively, with fun games, giveaways and several patrons walking away with amazing prizes.
Mr. Bawa Fuseini, President of the Ghana Athletics Association and representative of the Minister for Youth and Sports, delivered remarks on behalf of the Minister. He praised Lexis Bill for championing the initiative and urged participants to continue embracing an active lifestyle.
One of the highlights of the day was the presence of award-winning singer Wendy Shay, who joined fans to show support for the initiative. Her arrival sparked excitement, with many participants taking photos and exchanging greetings.

Several media personalities and friends of the Joy Brands were also present, lending additional energy and visibility to the activity. For many, the event was not just a walk, but a reunion of supporters who have followed Lexis’ journey on and off radio.
After a spirited climb to the summit, the group transitioned into an engaging aerobics session led by professional instructors – with Lexis Bill himself taking the front row. His passion for tennis and fitness shone through as he encouraged participants to stretch, dance, and move to high-tempo music.
The scene atop the mountain was electric: music blasting, drone shots capturing the landscape, and fans sharing refreshments, laughter and conversations.

Speaking after the session, Lexis Bill said the initiative was inspired by his commitment to promoting wellness among Ghanaians.
“We spend long hours sitting at desks, in traffic, online, everywhere. ‘Walk With Lexis’ is my little way of getting us to move, to breathe, to connect – and to appreciate the simple joys of keeping fit,” he said.
He added that the monthly walks have become a source of motivation for many who struggle to keep up with regular exercise routines.

Several participants who spoke to Joy FM and MyJoyOnline praised the broadcaster for his consistency in creating spaces for fans to meet him, exercise, and build community.
Kenneth, a participant from Taifa, shared:
“Lexis is not just a radio guy. He actually steps out to engage with us. Frankly, these walks are helping me to lose weight and make new friends.”
Another fan said she attends every edition because “it feels like a family outing where everyone is welcome.”
Lexis Bill, known for hosting Ghana’s biggest late-afternoon radio show, Drive Time, has increasingly used his public influence to champion healthy lifestyle habits. His fitness brand, coupled with his charismatic on-air personality, continues to endear him to audiences across Ghana and beyond.

Drive Time airs weekdays from 2pm to 5:30pm on Joy FM, delivering music, interviews, conversations and entertainment that command a massive listenership.
Organisers say the monthly walk will continue to evolve, with plans to introduce themed editions, charity tie-ins and wellness partnerships. Many fans at today’s event said they look forward to an even bigger turnout for the next edition.
As the sun rose over Aburi, the group dispersed with smiles, selfies, and renewed energy – a testament to the growing impact of Walk With Lexis in promoting fitness, friendship, and community bonding.
