Mahama’ rising popularity is giving NPP sleepless nights – Suhuyini

Deputy Minister for Roads and Highways and Member of Parliament for Tamale North, Mr Alhassan Suhuyini, says President John Dramani Mahama’s popularity is steadily increasing, a development he believes is unsettling the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Speaking on Joy FM’s Super Morning Show on Tuesday, December 23, Mr Suhuyini said, “Yes, the popularity of the President is growing by the day, and it is giving the NPP sleepless nights.”

He attributed the rising public support to citizens’ approval of the government’s performance and policy direction.

According to Mr Suhuyini, the NPP may have hoped to capitalise on prevailing political dynamics, but the growing support for President Mahama appears to be undermining those expectations.

“I think it is so because they probably would have liked to take advantage of such growing popularity,” he said.

The Deputy Minister noted that the increase in popularity goes beyond political metrics, reflecting public perceptions of President Mahama’s leadership style, policy choices, and engagement with citizens across the country.

He urged party members and supporters to sustain the momentum by remaining focused on effective governance and service delivery, stressing that enduring public support is driven by tangible actions and results rather than rhetoric.
