Minority demands full disclosure on August 6 Military helicopter crash report

The Minority Caucus in Parliament has called for full transparency and the release of the complete investigation report into the August 6 military helicopter crash that claimed eight lives.

In a press statement issued on Tuesday, November 12, the Caucus emphasised the need for a non-partisan and responsible approach to handling such a sensitive matter of national security.

This follows the government’s decision to make public a preliminary report on the tragic incident on Monday, November 11, 2025.

While expressing sympathy to the families of the victims, the Minority said it would refrain from politicising the tragedy but insisted on full disclosure of the report for independent and objective scrutiny.

“We expect, in the spirit of transparency and full disclosure, to receive the whole report,” the statement read.

“Our aim is to provide an objective view on the findings, not with the intent to point accusing fingers, but with a principled stance to help ensure that the necessary actions are taken for the safety and security of our country.”

The Caucus urged the government to clearly communicate its response plan and ensure that recommendations from the investigation are fully implemented.

They described the August 6 crash as a painful reminder to all political actors about the dangers of politicising national security issues.

“Events of the August 6th disaster, in hindsight, should remind every politician who has politicised military aircraft and presidential travel in the past, that the safety of our armed forces and our people must always come before narrow political interests,” the statement concluded.
