The National Leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has called on the public and stakeholders to disregard recent pronouncements by two of its Regional Chairmen.
In a statement signed by the NPP General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party said:
“The National Leadership of the New Patriotic Party urges the public and its stakeholders to disregard recent public pronouncements by the Ashanti Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, and the Bono Regional Chairman, Mr Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, as their statements do not represent the ideals and practices of the party.”
According to the party, the comments do not reflect the ideals and practices of the party.
The NPP stressed that no individual, regardless of rank or position, has the power to control the compilation of polling station albums.
To clear any doubts, the leadership explained that the process for compiling polling station albums strictly follows established procedures.

“The National Secretariat will, at the appropriate time, issue clear and transparent guidelines, protocols, and procedures designed to safeguard integrity, credibility, and fairness at every stage of the process,” the statement noted.
The party also gave assurance to “stakeholders, particularly polling station executives across the country, that such pronouncements should be disregarded and treated with the utmost contempt they deserve.”
The statement further addressed allegations made by Antwi Boasiako that the timing of the presidential primaries on 31st January, 2026, was meant to favour a particular aspirant. The party rejected this claim.
“The Party affirms that this assertion is unfounded. The National Council exhaustively deliberated and took the decision in the Party’s supreme and strategic interest. Given the calibre of the members of the National Council, no individual can manipulate or influence a decision in his or her favour,” it said.
Explaining the reason for the early congress, the leadership said, “The decision to hold an early congress is intended solely to provide the Party with sufficient time and strategic advantage to reorganise, reposition, and recapture power in 2028.”
The Party emphasised that every stage of its internal electoral processes, from polling station organisation to national congress, will be conducted in accordance with the highest standards of integrity and credibility.
“The Party remains resolutely committed to upholding transparency, fairness, and internal democracy in all its processes. Leadership will continue to ensure that every stage of our electoral activities reflects the highest standards of integrity and credibility,” it stated.
