NPP will not publish full 2024 election report – Oppong Nkrumah

A member of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Constitutional and Legal Committee and MP for Ofoase-Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has said the party will not publish the full internal report on its 2024 general election performance due to the sensitive nature of its contents.

Speaking in an interview with Channel One TV on July 21, 2025, Oppong Nkrumah explained that the document contains internal strategies and what he described as ‘trade secrets,’ which the party is not willing to disclose publicly.

“No, we will not be publishing that report to the general public. Political parties don’t do that because it also contains some trade secrets, and sensitive information. So, no political party does that,” he stated.

According to the former information minister, it is not customary for political parties in Ghana or elsewhere to make such internal analyses public.

Instead, the NPP has opted to release a summary version that reflects the key findings of the report and has already begun implementing some in internal reforms.

“The summary that we believe captures it, we have put it out and we have responded to, or we’ve started the process of responding to,” he indicated.

Oppong Nkrumah also dismissed claims that the party has failed to conduct a proper assessment of its defeat in the 2024 elections.

“It is not true that we have not done serious introspection on the report,” he emphasised.
