The Director-General of the National Service Authority (NSA), Ruth Dela Seddoh, says reforms under her leadership have already saved the state significant sums of money and will eliminate the long-standing problem of ghost names.
She said the new operational system at the Authority is tightening payroll controls and ensuring that only legitimately enrolled national service personnel receive allowances.
“I have saved taxpayers’ money, and I will fight with my last breath to ensure that there are no longer any ghost names at the NSA under the new system,” she stated.
Ms Seddoh explained that the reforms rely on stricter verification processes and enhanced digital controls to block avenues previously exploited for fraudulent enrolment and payments.
She noted that the measures are not only protecting public funds but also restoring confidence in the National Service Scheme.
Reaffirming her commitment to transparency and accountability, she stressed that the NSA under her leadership will not tolerate practices that undermine the integrity of national service.
“The goal is simple: every pesewa paid must go to a real, verified service person who has legitimately earned it,” she added.
