NSMQ 2025: Adisadel College reclaims lost seed status with record 82 points

Adisadel College has staged a sensational comeback to reclaim its lost seed status after two years, sealing its place in the quarterfinals of the 2025 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) with an emphatic 82 points, the highest score recorded so far in the ongoing competition.

The Zebra Boys dominated every round of their one-eighth contest against St. Hubert Seminary SHS and Serwaa Nyarko Girls’ SHS, displaying confidence and speed reminiscent of their glorious past performances.

At the end of Round One, Adisadel opened a commanding lead with 29 points, leaving St. Hubert and Serwaa Nyarko trailing with 15 and eight points, respectively. They stretched the gap even wider in Round Two, amassing 48 points compared to St. Hubert’s 18 and Serwaa Nyarko’s 11.

By the close of Round Four, Adisadel stood tall with 69 points, while both St. Hubert Seminary SHS and Serwaa Nyarko Girls’ SHS tied at 24 points. The boys from Cape Coast then capped their commanding performance with a near-perfect score of eight out of 10 in the Problem of the Day, bringing their final tally to 82 points.

Their next challenge is nothing short of epic — a “final before the final” showdown against defending champions Mfantsipim School and five-time champions Prempeh College.

Adisadel College, which last won the coveted NSMQ trophy in 2016, will be looking to relive that championship glory as they continue their impressive run in this year’s competition.
