Former Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has defended his record at the agency, insisting that his tenure delivered real, measurable results in youth and women empowerment.
In a social media post, Mr Nkansah said the Skills for Jobs Programme alone trained about 50,000 people nationwide, with the majority being women.
“We trained Ghanaians in CCTV installation, detergents and cosmetics making, makeup and beauty therapy, decor, wig making, beading, bakery, cereals processing, juice making, and other trades,” he said.
He added that about 10 percent of trainees received grants or starter packs, which helped create at least 15,000 jobs across local communities.
“This programme led to women earning additional income, and trainers and facilitators also benefited directly from their work,” he explained.
Mr Nkansah said he would soon share more details of the programmes he implemented during his three-year tenure as NEIP CEO.
“Some people think I went there to joke, but the data and impact tell a different story,” he remarked.
