On 30/08/2025, the Special Support Unit received intelligence indicating that suspect Newton Allotey, who was allegedly part of the armed thugs that besieged the Palace of the Chief of Omanjor, killing three persons and injuring about 49 others, was hiding in Dansoman.

At about 1:00 a.m. on 01/09/2025, four teams from the Unit, acting on the intelligence, proceeded to the Dansoman Last Stop area and arrested suspect Newton Allotey at his hideout. A search on him revealed 18 spent BB cartridges.

The suspect is currently in custody assisting with investigations.

Attached are a photograph of the suspect and the exhibit retrieved. Strenuous efforts are underway to apprehend other suspects, whose identities are known, to assist with investigations.
