
The Bono Regional Police Command has arrested a 43-year-old man, Yaw Owusu, popularly known as ‘Angolo’, for allegedly stabbing his younger brother to death during a misunderstanding at Awerempe, a suburb of Berekum West Municipality in the Bono Region.
According to the Police, the incident occurred on Friday, November 7, 2025, around 10:30 a.m., when a heated argument broke out between the suspect and his 25-year-old brother, Bright Abotsi.
In the course of the altercation, Yaw Owusu reportedly stabbed his brother in the chest with a knife.
The victim was rushed to the Holy Family Hospital in Berekum for medical attention, but was pronounced dead on arrival by the medical officer on duty.

Police investigations revealed that the suspect attempted to flee the scene but was quickly apprehended by officers.
The body of the deceased was later found lying on a stretcher at the hospital, wearing blood-soaked boxer shorts, with a deep wound on the right side of the upper chest.
The remains of the deceased have been deposited at the hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy as investigations continue.
The suspect, Yaw Owusu, is currently in police custody and will be arraigned before court after further investigations are completed.
Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, the Bono Regional Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest and assured the public that justice will be served.
