Relationship counsellor Cyril George Lutterodt, widely known as Counsellor Lutterodt, is set to appear in court on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, following his arrest over remarks that authorities say could incite public unrest.
Reports indicate that Lutterodt urged Ga youth to exhume the body of late highlife musician Daddy Lumba from his East Legon residence, claiming that burying him at what he described as an unauthorised site on Ga land disrespected local customs and traditional authorities. He reportedly called for immediate corrective action if proper cultural protocols were not observed.
The comments drew swift backlash on social media and among the public, with critics condemning them as insensitive and potentially inflammatory.
After a video of his remarks circulated widely, the Ghana Police Service moved quickly to take Lutterodt into custody for questioning as part of ongoing investigations.

He has been charged with offensive conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace under Section 207 of the Criminal Offences Act, 1960 (Act 29). Authorities say he is also expected to face an additional charge of inciting violence under the Criminal Offences Act and the Public Order Act, 1994 (Act 491).
