Ghanaian musician Star Sewa has made a comeback with his second single of the year titled ‘Gboza’ to express gratitude to God.
The song follows the love-themed ‘Anwanwado’, released in the first quarter of 2025.
Although a secular highlife artiste, Gboza, released in July 2025, is a soul-stirring gospel-themed piece that doubles as a heartfelt thanksgiving to God. According to Star Sewa, his almost half-a-decade music career has had a fair share of hurdles to overcome, but God’s abundant blessings have been very evident in his life. What better way to show appreciation and gratitude than to compose a song to praise God!
The song is accompanied by a beautifully shot music video, and delivers sweet melodies wrapped in the timeless rhythms of authentic Ghanaian highlife. Many young musicians have abandoned Highlife and are experimenting with trendier dominant sounds like Afrobeats, however, Star Sewa stands firm in his conviction that highlife remains Ghana’s truest musical identity.
